Typically when the weather isn’t cooperating we reschedule our outdoor maternity sessions, but this couple had their heart set on a date and embraced the dark and grey day (thankfully the rain held off) as they felt it would fit the mood of their beloved River District neighborhood in Vancouver.

We love when newborn sessions include an older sibling as well as parents (of course!). We find it always adds a special touch and creates special memories for the whole family to enjoy!

This grassy field maternity session was one of our favorites! Paired with this expecting moms dress it was giving off some major boho vibes. We loved that they opted to include their dog as a part of their outdoor maternity session as well.

Can you have a newborn session past the 2-week range? The answer: YES! Lifestyle photography is suited to capture babies of all ages and stages. What’s the trade-off? With babies over 2 weeks old, you may not get all those super sleepy poses, but the trade-off is wide-eyed images with more expressions.
